Chemical Guys - Bare Bones

Chemical Guys Bare Bones is a detailing spray designed specifically to coat those hard to reach areas, leaving a long lasting, dirt repellant layer of protection making this the ideal product for exterior plastics, under arches and engine bays.

The perfect detail starts with Chemical Guys Bare Bones and the Bare Bones is your undercarriage, the stuff you don't see that silently awaits underneath your cars. Detailing your undercarriage is just as important as detailing the paint. Wheel wells, sub-frame, springs, fender well and all of the other black and gray parts underneath the body need some love too.

A quick spray of Chemical Guys Bare Bones Spray not adds shine, but also repels dirt but can also hide dirty spots and discolouration between parts, while enhancing any Job. The deep dark finish of Bare Bones adds the perfect finishing touches to any job. Formulated with UV light absorbers to block the damaging effects of the sun.

Bare bones is a brilliant final touch, I use it to make the wheel arches, suspension components and undersides of the car shiny. Especially useful of 4x4's or cars with a large wheel arch gap. It has the advantage of quite a sweet smell. I try to give the area a quick wipe with a sponge and soapy water to give the chemical a decent starting point, but it works quite well on an unprepared surface too. I would suggest that you apply before rinsing the bodywork down as in windy conditions the mist can get carried onto the paint work resulting in oily spots. The only downside is the liquid does not last very long and the trigger applicator is slightly too long but honestly that is a minor problem.

Ive been a big fan of Chem Guys products for a long time now and they are often all I purchase. I expected a lot from this stuff at £9 for the small bottle, and can honestly say I wasn't impressed. I ended up using half the bottle on the first use, and my undercarriage didn't even look much cleaner, not only does that seem like a huge waste of money but I couldn't afford £4.50 every time I cleaned my car just for the undercarriage. The price might be acceptable if it did the job as well as others on the internet have said. The one good thing, and reason it got two starts instead of one is that the smell is incredible, and can be smelt through the inside of the car afterward, but for me, not redeeming enough. Sorry Chem Guys, you let me down on this one.

I bought this after hearing pro-detailers mention it in the forum.I wasn't disappointed.Firstly the smell is fantastic, like a kind of nice bubble-gum odour.Keep it away from kids etc. 'cos it smells edible if you know what i mean. And then the way it goes on and clings to the surface giving great coverage. It is quite a thick liquid, almost gel-like and a little goes a long way.
