Bilt Hamber - Korrosol Iron Remover

Bilt Hamber Korrosol is a controlled pH non-alkaline fallout remover for the safe and effective removal of embedded metallic particles that contaminate the vast majority of road going vehicles. You may not have noticed by looking at your paintwork, but next time it’s washed and clean lightly feel the paintwork, especially the horizontal panels; bonnet, boot lid, roof etc. Very gently with finger tip touch you’ll be able to feel a rough grittiness. You may well think this is dust landed from the air – it’s not. Airborne metallic particles liberated by braking surfaces, such as pads and discs fill the air along our roads, when hot after the car in front of you brakes your car travels through them, as a result they embed themselves in your paintwork.

Once on the paintwork,  they react with rainwater or air moisture and begin to corrode and as the corrosion product (rust) occupies four times the space of iron the paint is slowly ruptured around the embedded particle. This action destroys both the aesthetic and protective qualities of the finish.

While harsh acids such as phosphoric and oxalic acids maybe use with good effect to remove the contamination, these acids to not discriminate between corrosion and good steel not even paint films themselves, so while the particle is removed and base metals or coatings can also be attacked. korrosol’s effective formula is simply sprayed onto the contaminated panel a rapid and dramatic colour change takes place which indicates that the corroded part is water soluble after which a rinse with water leaves the panel free of metallic embedment.

Bilt Hamber Korrosol is safe to use on all auto body paint finishes including lacquers.

Never used an iron remover before but I could see little metalic specks appearing on the lower front door paintwork and it was starting to annoy so looked into solutions, found cleanyourcar and the rest is history. Used if for the first ime today and the results were amazing, with the wheels and lower paintwork turning a 'lovely purple'. Two year old car but a lot of chemical reaction showing up. Korrosol also seems to grab the surface well and doesn't simply run-off. Glad I got it and would definitely buy again when the time comes.

This stuff is brilliant. Sprayed lower section of car and wheels between washing and claying. Dissolved loads of contaminants and turns them purple so you can actually see it working. Rinsed with pressure washer and was really impressed, especially with the wheels. Will be using this all the time in future.

I have used Gyeon Iron and CarPro IronX in the past and this works just as good if not better, the advantage to Bilt Hamber is that its a bit thicker so it cliches better and give you longer work time. and best off all it smells a million times better and is better value.

So it was my first time using the BH Korrosol.. and wow.. what a product. Ive watched videos on youtube and instagram of guys using this stuff and it looked too good to be true. Applied to the lower half of the car and also the wheels. I literally applied a reasonable amount of BH Korrosol on each wheel and let it bleed for few mins.. after spraying all the wheels and coming back round to the very first wheel sprayed BH Korrosol had worked its magic in no time.. really getting into the iron and all them other chemicals that stick to the wheels. After jet washing the wheels they were looking awesome! Definitely worth using! Ive also used the equivalent from chemical guys which was the decon iron remover.. I must say BH was definitly much better!

I was truly shocked by the results this gave. I thought my car was fairly contaminant free. I was wrong so very wrong. This is easy to apply, I applies to a dry pre washed car and left to dwell for a few mins. The amount of pink/purple reaction was astounding. Jet washing off left me with confidence that the body was free from iron particles and I moved on to the claying session. Highly recommended and will be on my shelf from now on.
