Was this Rental Good Value for Money?
Was it easy to find / get to the Desk?
Was the Pick Up Experience Smooth?
Were you happy with the Car?
Was the Drop Off experience easy?
Did the Rental Team look after you well?
We had booked a "Fita 500 or similar" and were offered a jeep (!) which we rejected. So they proposed a Renault. We then got the hard sell on excess insurance, despite me telling them we were already covered. To some extent this was to be expected, but this was unnecessarily persistent and included downright lies "Yes, but your insurance does not include vandalism, only accidental damage". The first car they chose had the engine warning light illuminated so we rejected it, the second one (a Skoda) had tyre pressure and airbag warning lights but it was by now so late that we decided to take it. The car was quite tatty (including a missing rear windscreen wiper blade) but we sort of expected that, due to the cheapness of the rental fee. It perormed as expected during our trip. What we didn't expect was being ambushed by an "accident" scammer while on the road. Nothing very threatening but I can't help feeling that the presence of rental car stickers on the car were marking us out. The car return went smoothly, with no attempt to claim unjustifiably for damage (we had collected no additional bumps, scratches or dents - in spite of the incident above) but they failed to credit the deposit back to my CC until I specifcally requested it 2 weeks later. This was a substantial amount and could have caused a real issue if I had not had sufficient funds to cover it until it was finally funded. In retrospect, choosing the cheapest offer for car rental in Sicily may not have been the smartest option. The phrase "you get what you pay for" springs to mind, but this was a bit too close to the bottom of the barrel for comfort. And the failure to credit the deposit just seems like dishonesty.
