Darjeeling First Flush
Type: Black
Description:Darjeeling 1st Flush from the Gopaldhara Tea Estate. FTGFOP1 Clonal Queen. The champagne of Black teas, Darjeeling has an unmatched distinctive natural flavour with a floral aroma. Grown on steep slopes in West Bengal, Darjeeling gets its unique flavour and aroma from the misty Himalayan mountain climate, soil conditions and high altitude. When brewed it is light in colour and has a rather musky spiciness to it known as “muscatel”. Can be served with or without milk.

I've given this 4 stars overall because I'm finding it difficult to brew consistently, whereas the Silver Needle White tea seems perfect every time. When everything goes right this makes 5 star tea, in my opinion. You can re-steep the leaves a few times and (to my palate) the tea is best on the 2nd or 3rd steep, in fact (to the horror of everyone reading, I'm sure) I throw the first steep away. That's not too 'wasteful' since 1 teaspoon still makes 2 or more delicious (if I'm lucky!) cups of tea.

Excellent value for money with a true Darjeeling taste. Sunday brunch of smoked haddock and poached egg fully complemented by this tea. Drunk as black tea its slightly smoky taste is very pleasant. Again from this company it is better than all of the others we have previously purchased from. Will definitely buy again and recommend.

I expected more full-bodied taste and aroma, but this one is just nice mild tea. Don't think I'd buy it again.

Very nice and strong tea, without any unnecessary additives. It is reasonably priced for the quality of the product and one of the best teas I found so far in London.

I bought this tea for a tea loving friend of mine and he really loves it. He struggles to find a tea he likes in supermarkets but this one was extremely good. I bought a small bag for him to try and I thought it very good value for money. I will probably order a large bag for his birthday!

A fine tea with a bright amber colour and delicate floral bouquet. The first cup is light and mellow. The second cup after a longer brew has a pleasant bite. Without doubt worth a trial for tea lovers who cannot find the quality they require in the local supermarket.

I first tried Darjeeling First Flush during afternoon tea at the Ritz and loved it. I then shopped around trying to find the best and tastiest and I can say DARJEELING FIRST FLUSH (GOOMTEE ESTATE) is the winner.
