Earthborn Claypaint is a unique eco paint with a luxurious, ultra-matt finish for walls and ceilings. The beautiful range of traditional and contemporary colours are soothing and inspiring. Health and environmental benefits are unbeatable, too - Claypaint is virtually free of VOCs and other harmful emissions, odour free, totally oil free and highly breathable - great for traditional buildings, babies' nurseries and children's rooms. Being static resistant, Earthborn Claypaint reduces dust and allergen build-up, making it the ideal choice for asthma and allergy sufferers. It is also easy to apply and has great covering power.  Deliciously thick and creamy, it goes on like a dream and often requires fewer coats than conventional emulsions. All this and no horrible smells or emissions. With virtually no VOC's you can happily sleep in the same room that has been painted the same day. In July 2014, we hosted our first shabby chic furniture painting class using our beautiful Cla...

Great paint. I used this after hacking off 'nasty' modern, unbrathae plaster from our recently bought old house. But, to even out imperfections, I filled holes with Volvox filler - highly recommended product too. The paint goes on with just the right amount of 'drag'. I have not used other breathable paint, but for me this feels just right. Two years on, the paint looks as good as new.

I absolutely adore this paint! I am hooked on Earthborn Clay paints and products now. Initially I ordered a tin because my other half had plastered a wall and said he wanted breathable paint for it. So I got some Clay paint because it is breathable paint. But it is way more than breathable paint. I just love using it and I love the finish. Firstly - it smells of nothing! Lovely! If it has any faint smell at all it is of muddy water - ie virtually nothing. I am asthmatic and it has increased my enjoyment of painting our house no end because it doesn't make me wheeze or feel ill. Secondly - I am messy and a cack-handed painter - I only use a brush because I'm a disaster with a roller. I can splash this paint on floors, furniture and myself and it just wipes off or washes out! Great. Thirdly - It is lovely thick paint. In fact it's so thick that sometimes one coat is sufficient, but what I've found works best for me (using a brush) is to add just a little bit of water and mix it well and do two coats, because it paints on quicker and easier like that. Fourthly - due to the lack of smell there are no worries for your pets. Some pets are more susceptible to paint fumes than we are, so no need to remove the hamster cage from the room! I also like that it has the European eco label. I've used the wall glaze as well which is great stuff and I'm hooked on that too - both for preparation and to make certain areas wipeable (eg near the back door). The glaze has a faint smell but it's more like vinegar and not noxious at all. I had great difficulty in deciding which colour. Decisions that can take ages! In the end I chose Marbles and am very happy with it. It looks quite beige going on but dries to a nice shade of cream/beige. It looks more cream in some lights and more beige/neutral in others. I have tried a number of other paints which claim to be low odour or even odour-free - but aren't.

I would never use another brand of paint - although not cheap it is lovely to use, covers well and has no smell whatsoever. It can look a little patchy while its going on but dries beautifully. I have used on walls and more recently on furniture and have been so impressed. The White looks great against old oak beams as it is not a harsh white and Mittens is a wonderful neutral shade somewhere between a pale sage green and cream. I mixed a load of sample pots together to paint some furniture and the colours blended together so well. Best applied with an emulsion roller but in areas where we have needed to touch up using a brush it blends in fine. Would recommend ordering tester pots as even the paint card doesn't always match 100%.
