Earthborn Claypaint is a unique eco paint with a luxurious, ultra-matt finish for walls and ceilings. The beautiful range of traditional and contemporary colours are soothing and inspiring. Health and environmental benefits are unbeatable, too - Claypaint is virtually free of VOCs and other harmful emissions, odour free, totally oil free and highly breathable - great for traditional buildings, babies' nurseries and children's rooms. Being static resistant, Earthborn Claypaint reduces dust and allergen build-up, making it the ideal choice for asthma and allergy sufferers. It is also easy to apply and has great covering power.  Deliciously thick and creamy, it goes on like a dream and often requires fewer coats than conventional emulsions. All this and no horrible smells or emissions. With virtually no VOC's you can happily sleep in the same room that has been painted the same day. In July 2014, we hosted our first shabby chic furniture painting class using our beautiful Cla...

Great paint. Having stripped peeling Dulux Vinyal Matt paint off an internally cement rendered wall of our 250 yr old Pembrokeshire Long House wanted something that could easily be looked after for the future. We have removed the exterior cement render and had the wall repointed in lime, but funds don't run to anything internal. This paint has proved fantastic. Any small bits of damp coming through I just treat with a mould killer and repaint with the clay paint. Have also used to paint an internal stone wall, which is more cement made to look like stone than anything else. It looked awful. Now looks great. First coat watered down and then a final coat of full clay paint - White clay. this is a lovely warm colour - not stark white and to me seems to replicate the white on the other internal walls that have parts of the original white wash finish on a lot of the stone.

Lovely paint to use and beautiful colours. White Clay only needed one coat on an old white ceiling (decades since last decorated, I patched it with filler and cleaned first). Sunday Stroll took two coats, but walls were a mixture of gypsum and lime with lots of patches. I'd scraped off most of the emulsion and patched with filler - the surface was flaky so I used a breathable stabiliser first. I'm really pleased with the result and will always recommend Earthborn over high street brands.

I used to hate decorating. This paint is so lovely and creamy to work with. I have now bought some decent brushes and decorating is soooo much better using them and this paint.

I have used the earthborn paint in three rooms already because of its breathability and compatibility with clay based plasters. The finish is excellent and provides a creamy deep matt texture which coverers imperfections well.

I found that the paint was a little thick to go on easily. Admittedly, I was painting in very warm weather, but I had to add quite a bit of water so that the paint didn't dry too quickly as I was putting it on. Also, the coverage wasn't as far as I was expecting, even with watering it down. That said, the final result is just what I was looking for. Bedroom done, looking forward to starting on the dining room!

Earthborn Claypaint has a totally different chemistry to commercial varieties. It's really thick, matt, dries quickly and opacity is excellent, even watered down. However, its downfall is that it is completely unscrubbable - it wipes off even when dry - and easily picks up scuffs and stains. Therefore it's fine for ceilings and bedrooms but will quickly look worn in fingerprintable areas.
