The Leaf Catcher from 3P Technik is excellent at separating out leaves and moss clumps from the rainwater going to the down-pipe, collecting the debris in its small basket. It is very able at preventing gulleys from being blocked and fouled by downpipe debris such as twigs, leaves and moss. This is not a formal filter for rainwater harvesting systems, however. If a filter is required instead, or in conjunction, then do have a look at the superb 3P Filter Collector with Universal Link Kit or the 3P Rainus Filter. This device is popular where customers wish to screen out twigs, moss and leaves, without them falling to the floor, or passing on down the down-pipe where they might block up the receiving gulley pot, or, worse still, block up underground pipework. It can be installed at any height but at a convenient height to suit the owner/operator without the need to use a ladder or steps. The down-pipe simply hangs into the Catcher basket, clipping onto the basket's pre...

This product is excellent, we have been having real problems with moss washing off the house and garage roofs and blocking the chicken wire filters and then over flowing gutters, in some very heavy rain squall this filter performed exceptionally well. We may well be ordering another soon

Underground soak away struggling to clear heavy rainfall due to leaves and debris coming off roof and down guttering downpipe. This seemed a simple add in to the downpipe and was easy enough to fit. You likely need pipe bracket above and below to help secure pipe. Seems to work. Have made a fine mesh bowl to collect the small pollen etc and makes easy emptying. Looks and feels robust.

Looking good. I was concerned that it would cope with the flow as the drainpipe has to cope with a lot of roof area but it seems OK. Had to cut into the existing drainpipe to install it but it wasn't too difficult. I suggest you arm yourself with a couple of spare drainpipe brackets before you start. The real test will come in autumn when the leaves fall in earnest but I feel pretty confident.

Looks good and strong, will be incorporated into the downpipe, to filter water going in to a new water butt, when all the guttering is replaced in a week's time.
