The Leaf Catcher from 3P Technik is excellent at separating out leaves, twigs and moss clumps from the rainwater going to the downpipe. It collects the debris in a small basket. It helps stop leaves blocking drains and prevent gulleys from being blocked too. Leaf Catcher is intended as an alternative to "balloon guards" or "hedgehog guards" at gutter level, but because the Leaf Catcher is installed at any point on the downpipe, it saves on awkward high level maintenance, or unblocking things at ground level. It can be installed at any height but at a convenient height to suit the owner/operator without the need to use a ladder or steps. The downpipe simply hangs into the Catcher basket, clipping onto the basket's pre-cut positions.  This Leaf Guard fits square downpipes 65mm (using supplied adaptor) and round downpipes 68mm, 80mm, 90mm and 100mm. Available in four colours (black, grey, white and brown) to suit your guttering. For square downpipes, the unit fits into the downpipe, there will be g...

Easy to fit and filters out the moss perfectly.

The leaf catcher was easy to fit following the supplied instructions. It does the job well although a smaller mesh would help stop the smaller tree seeds/blossom. The adaptor ring could do with being a bit stronger as can distort if the downpipe alignment is slightly out.

Been fitted for a year now, the white finish has not discoloured, been absolutely bulletproof at what it’s designed for and just so easy to clean out moss and leaves that are washed into it, whilst still allowing large volumes of water to pass through. So good just ordering another one

it is bulky and not as slick as some alternatives but it is reliable, it holds the filtered material (so it requires more regular maintenance but that's what I wanted instead of having dirt on the patio/paths..) and it is way cheaper that some other alternatives. Overall I am happy with the article would buy again.

Much better idea than a basket at the top, avoids keeping all the leaves in the gutter where they will eventually block and overflow? Seems to work well. 4 stars because I'd have preferred a finer mesh or maybe an optional insert to catch birch and lime seeds which are generated profusely and a lot get on the roof and into gutters because they are light and carried with the wind. Also a bit loose when using the adapter for small pipes although I suppose I could stick a screw or some sealant in. But great idea and does the job

Due to the large catchment roof area connected to the single drainpipe, moss, leaves, etc would collect during a torrential downpour and block the flow to the drain. Since fitting the leaf catcher filter there have been no recurrences of this. There have been several thunderstorms with heavy rain during the past few weeks and it has been fine. It is easy to check the filter for debris and remove it when required. A simple but effective device. Should have fitted it years ago!
