Earthborn Lifestyle is durable and washable eco-friendly alternative to standard washable emulsions. Ideal for the busier and higher humidity where walls are more likely to get marked and scuffed. Being virtually VOC-free and free from any hazardous chemicals meaning no nasty paint smells allowing you to move to the painted room on the same day. (see full ingredient declaration below) Unfortunately, there are no samples available in the Lifestyle Emulsion. However, the colour range is the same as Earthborn's Claypaint and samples are available in that range. For properties where breathability is important i.e. solid masonry building's, you may wish to consider the Earthborn Claypaint due to its significantly higher breathability. Had used Claypaint White in our previous 300 year old property so was already a fan of Earthborn. Purchased the Lifestyle emulsion for a downstairs shower room as wanted a more hardwearing finish and breathability is not as crucial in this current house. I didn’t realise but in the 5 or so years in between,White is now renamed White Clay so the White I purchased is a very bright “true” white. The finish is lovely, very matte and after it’s been on the walls a few days it is wipeable and seems hardwearing. The only downside we found was the coverage was not as good as the Claypaint, the Lifestyle emulsion is thinner. The 2.5 litre tin was only just enough (and half the walls are tiled). Did a mist coat as new plaster and then needed three more coats on top. The tin is almost empty which is difficult as touch ups will needed after the room is finished. So in hindsight I would have purchased the White Clay in a 5litre tin, but it still looks nice and I’m happy with the result

I have only used Claypaint before but needed a harder wearing paint for the kitchen. The first coat did not look good as it had bubbles in it which dried to hard lumps. They say a bad workman should not blame their tools but in this case the tools were to blame. I noticed that a short pile roller was recommended so I lightly sanded the walls and repainted using one and now the walls look really nice.

Great - way tougher than I expected for a very matt paint. My freshly painted wall was marked (not happy!), but the mark washed straight off with a damp cloth even though it was a light colour, so delighted and the culprit got away with it!

The paint was ordered from Celtic Sustainables, and it arrived on time. I did have cause to contact the Earthborn directly about a technical query, and found them very helpful. I have used this paint before and found it to be excellent. It is quite thick and covers very well. It leaves virtually no odour at all, which is great as I have some family members with allergies who react strongly to the smell of conventional paint. It's more expensive than conventional paint, but in my view is worth every penny
