Burgundy Water Butt - 500 Litres Reviews

4.8 Rating 5 Reviews
Read Celtic Sustainables Reviews

The highly realistic wooden barrel appearance of the Burgundy water butt and its large 500 litre capacity has made this a very popular water butt since its release. The Burgundy's highly detailed hand finished surface produced from high-grade polyethene has fooled many individuals into believing that it is a real wooden barrel. The Burgundy has a removable child-proof lid (secured by supplied security screw) allowing the dunking of watering cans directly into the water butt. For this water butt, we recommend the Filter Collector Universal as the connection from the downpipe can be secured with a back nut. Free economy delivery to mainland UK. Technical Information Capacity - 500 Litres Dimensions - Height: 118cm, Maximum Diameter: 79cm, Minimum Diameter: 69cm Material - High-Grade Polyethylene Connection Points - 3 x ¾" BSP brass threaded ports as; 1 x tap point for watering can & 2 x interconnection or drain down point at base Recommended...

Got this installed on a solid concrete plinth (covered with the same slates we have for the patio) a few weeks ago and so far it's working great! The plinth raises the butt enough so I can use the drain port at the bottom of the butt and still get a watering can underneath. I decided to screw the tap into the drain port instead of the other port that's about 35cm up on the side of the barrel (as shown in the standard pictures). That way I can make use of the full 500L capacity and hopefully prevent silt building up in the bottom. I used one of the optional downpipe diverters with a built in filters, which is attached to the main roof downpipe. A couple of days of decent rain filled it up completely! Hoping it will last many years will little / no maintenance. Got a picture, but can't seem to attach it!

I love this water butt: in one sense it's "just another water butt" in that it holds water, and works; but it's really nice looking. Ours is sat in one corner of the patio, and a plain plastic thing would have looked ugly. Instead this is a feature in its own right. Absolutely lovely.

Looks fabulous where sited, exactly how we hoped it would look. Seems very good quality. Delighted.

Looks amazing, but did not think that a load of water collected in the base, below the tap was not usable! & did not read that in the winter this water butt needs to be empty! The brass tap although really heavy & of excellent quality, after fitting discovered that handle will not turn & is stuck fast, had to use my old plastic one & will have to send the tap back! Annoying!
