Thermafleece Breather Membrane is a light weight vapour permeable underlay designed for use in floors and walls or on top of insulation as a protective layer. Thermafleece Breather Membrane comprises 3 layers; two outer layers composed of a non-woven polypropylene and an inner breathable microporous film. Thermafleece Breather Membrane is ideal for supporting insulation between suspended floor joists or as a protective layer above insulation installed between floor joists to prevent the accumulation of debris on top of insulation. The membrane can be nailed or stapled to the underside of the floor joist if access permits. Alternatively the membrane can be installed from above the rafter. I insulated under the floorboards, crawling around a 1.5 ft crawl space for a day when 5 months pregnant is not pleasant at all. This product made the job not just doable but actually quite quick and simple. It took me one day to get it done, I think it would have taken at least 2 if I fashioned some kind of support out of netting etc - this just made it pretty easy to be honest. The floor is noticeably warmer already.

Fix it between joists with staples made a difference straight away.

Looks breathable, easy to cut and work with. Seems strong as I slipped when installing and put my weight down on it, but only a small rip from the staples. Like all these things.. only time will tell. I used it to support wool insulation and to go on top to stop dust (as advised from thermafleece) So far so good, holds insulation well, and will stop dust/debris getting into the insulation from the top.
