Sheeps Wool Insulation by Thermafleece. Their Cosywool rolls are an easy to use sheeps wool insulation, supplied in compressed packed rolls for quick installation.  Made from 75% sheep wool, 15% recycled polyester, and 10% polyester binder with a high recycled content, the Cosywool Rolls have all the benefits of sheep wool, while remaining a very affordable, non itch insulation. A truly sustainable insulation produced using British Wool and manufactured in the UK. Great for loft insulation, wall insulation and floor insulation. It has high acoustic insulation properties so it is also great for partition walls, campervans and as part of a soundproofing system. Sheep wool insulation has a very low embodied energy, and acts as a moisture buffer by absorbing and releasing excess moisture (can absorb up to 30% of weight for weight in 100% relative humidity conditions). Like all Thermafleece wool products, it is long-lasting, safe to handle, itch free and can contrib...

The exposed green oak in our house had dried as is the norm and a fairly large gap appeared between it and the brick/plaster work . Draughts were coming through the gap and we wanted a natural breathable product to use to plug the gap . Sheeps wool insulation perfect .

We decided to use this insulation in the shed (where husband stores all his painting & decorating materials, 10 large shelves full ) and REALLY wish we hadn't. It took a month of weekends lining all the walls with the wool, then membrane and wood panelling only to find the smell (strong smell of sheep) is awful/embarrassing. How do people live with this in their loft or in tiny homes indeed @ all? We didn't want to use a rockwool type insulation but would NEVER have gone this route if we had been warned about the smell. Now all my husbands decorating troughs and materials (which he takes into peoples homes) smell embarrassingly of sheep . Not a nice sheep smell like a wool carpet , not a nice sheep smell like in a field of buttercups but an embarrassing sheep smell that wafts over out neighbours fences in the summer when we have the shed door open. :O( Having spent all this money and time (not just on the wool but membrane , panelling etc) we don't feel we can take it all out. In any case, everything now stinks of it so suppose it would be quite difficult to get rid of the smell in any case. Have to say though that if we did have the time and the energy to do this all again (maybe next summer) we may well just be driven to do it. Thought we would write this review because we wish we had been warned about the smell. We had hoped it might disappear in time but it hasn't. As I say, what you can you do after you have spent a week insulating the whole shed (to include the roof ) and wood panelling , it is not easy to send it back! So be warned!

We would never go back to the man made option now- love that it is made from something natural and the house seems far warmer than before, despite using just 10cm thick rolls. It is the first winter using it, but like how it is so breathable. We would use this again without any hesitation- although it is more in price than the man made, it is still reasonable for the job it is to do.
