Sheeps Wool Insulation by Thermafleece. Their Cosywool rolls are an easy to use sheeps wool insulation, supplied in compressed packed rolls for quick installation.  Made from 75% sheep wool, 15% recycled polyester, and 10% polyester binder with a high recycled content, the Cosywool Rolls have all the benefits of sheep wool, while remaining a very affordable, non itch insulation. A truly sustainable insulation produced using British Wool and manufactured in the UK. Great for loft insulation, wall insulation and floor insulation. It has high acoustic insulation properties so it is also great for partition walls, campervans and as part of a soundproofing system. Sheep wool insulation has a very low embodied energy, and acts as a moisture buffer by absorbing and releasing excess moisture (can absorb up to 30% of weight for weight in 100% relative humidity conditions). Like all Thermafleece wool products, it is long-lasting, safe to handle, itch free and can contrib...

I have used thermafleece a few years ago and loved it as it is easy and non irritating to use This batch was even better than before, being cleaner and softer. When you first unwrap the insulation it appears quite thin, I used 100mm which looked more like 60mm but if you unwrap it and leave it to expand (a bit like a new mattress) it springs to it's correct thickness. I found it easier to cut after allowing it to rest. I cut it with a pair of hand sheep shears across it's width. Lovely.

The sheep's wool is very good for insulating my van Thank you. If your thinking of insulating your van/car, sheeps wool is the best.

It’s lovely and sheepy! Smells of sheep which is fab but once installed you can’t smell it. We love it!

We bought it again as it's very easy to work with. Rip/tease it apart rather than cutting it with scissors and it's easily stapled to rafters where needed. Wear a mask/buff whilst putting it up as it can be quite dusty and fibrousy. it makes a real difference to the warmth of a room and also helps amazingly with sound deadening. We also chose it because it can be recycled when it's time to update the room in the future - something that's usually quite challenging to do with other types of insulation. Lastly, it does have a certain farmyard aroma until you put the plasterboard up - but I quite like the smell!

The quality of the Thermafleece Cosywool appears to be very good, however, the odour is anything but mild (as the description states) When rolled out and in situ it really does stink. The room is well ventilated and my house has smelled like a farmyard for over a week. I do appreciate it’s a natural product, but if my woolly jumpers smelled like this, I probably wouldn’t have many friends.

doubtful initially as its 4-5 times more expensive than the glass wool, but we wanted an environmentally friendly solution. once we started working with the product there was no doubt it was far superior to the glass wool. It remians in tact and is easy to handle and no need for mask or gloves when installing. it saved us lots of time and effort and has a much better U value. Combined with the environmental credentials its worth every penny and good to support a british business.
