EcoPro Silicate Masonry Paint is a highly durable mineral paint that dries to a classic, matt finish. Being highly breathable yet water repellent it offers an alternative to traditional lime based and conventional coatings. The Ecopro Silicate Paint System requires all surfaces to be primed with a single coat of Ecopro Silicate Primer followed by two coats of Ecopro Silicate Masonry Paint (first coat must be diluted with 10-20% Ecopro Silicate Primer, Read: Why do I need to use Earthborn Silicate Primer? (opens in new tab)) . The paint and primer products form a chemical bond with underlying materials to create a water and weather-resistant barrier while remaining water vapour permeable which enables the building to breathe. “We tested this on a lime plaster wall last year and it still looks as good as the day we did it. This is in marked contrast to the limewash which looked poor from day one, awful in the wet and mostly wore off after a couple of years,despite having four or five coats. We have now painted two large walls (8x8M) and they look excellent. The paint is easy to apply - much like emulsion. The binder is also easy, but somewhat caustic - wear gloves and don't get it on glass. It's very expensive stuff, but if it lasts as long as it claims (& I see no reason why it shouldn't) it is economical in the long run. If there is a cost for access (scaffold etc) there will be more savings, as you won't have to do it every other year! All in all, would highly recommend.”

“The WHITE delivered was WHITE (could be said brilliant white rather) indeed. Whereas on swatch strip it was slightly yellowish, more like magnolia. Maybe the swatch print wasn’t ideal, but how I could verify it? For me, as a first buyer it is hard to tell unknown colours other way than by match with a swatch sent directly from Earthborn themselves. Personally, I think that fault is on Earthborn side.”
