EcoPro Silicate Masonry Paint is a highly durable mineral paint that dries to a classic, matt finish. Being highly breathable yet water repellent it offers an alternative to traditional lime based and conventional coatings. The Ecopro Silicate Paint System requires all surfaces to be primed with a single coat of Ecopro Silicate Primer followed by two coats of Ecopro Silicate Masonry Paint (first coat must be diluted with 10-20% Ecopro Silicate Primer, Read: Why do I need to use Earthborn Silicate Primer? (opens in new tab)) . Living in the high Pennines, masonry paint is well tested by the elements. The silicate masonry paint lasts up to 4 years, well short of the advertised length, but none do! It is easy to apply and looks very good.

The quantities that Earthborn and several of their recommended suppliers suggest for newly rendered roughcast lime render is way out. The paint is expensive and only discovered I needed over double the quantities once the paint job had started, meaning the costs soared. The paint itself seems good but not sure it's worth the cost for roughcast lime render.

Covers well and looks great. Used the bonding primer which gave a good basecoat. Hard to achieve the coverage quoted so used more than expected but very pleased with the end result.
