Earthborn’s Isolating Primer is designed to treat those stubborn dry stains before over painting with water based paints like our luxurious, ultra matt Earthborn Claypaint. The purpose of Isolating Primer is to prevent the stains bleeding through the new paintwork. It has excellent isolating properties when used on dry water stains, fat, nicotine and other dry stains. It is also a suitable primer for fibre products. Earthborn Isolating Primer is made from carefully selected, premium quality ingredients and is formulated to be less harmful to the user and the environment than competing products. Drying time Touch dry in 4-5 hours, depending on temperature and humidity. Can be painted over after 24 hours. Covered a horrible water stain with two coats on a breathable wall with lime paint.

This was effective but took at least 3 coats to cover water stains on plasterboard

I have used this only once, came recommended by an architect for painting a vestry, and there was a lot of loose plaster. I used this under the clay paint, seemed to do the job very well.
