“Although specified for a Mk4 Golf, it was slightly shorter than the battery it replaced, so the negative contact was partly shielded by the plastic positive connector & fuse shroud. This did not have a serious effect. Otherwise, the battery fitted OK. This battery did need a lot of initial charging before fitting to the car: it is generally considered good practice to charge a new battery before use.”
