“We've tried many types of briquette and we think these are the best! Very often, we've found that briquettes tend to burn well at first and then the flames become orange and smoky - leaving a sooty film on the glass door. Usually, the only way to prevent this is by increasing the air-flow, which means the briquettes burn hotter and more quickly, which isn't what we want. The Calido Wood Briquettes are very controllable regarding air-flow and burn time but, very importantly, on slow-burn, there is negligible soot deposit on the glass. We'll definitely buy more and happily recommend them to anyone.”

“The heat output from these briquettes is amazing. They burn for a long time, so I'm not having to keep feeding the stove and I use only 2 per evening (in a house that has no central heating).”

“Great heat output, however not quite as long burning as i expected, and i experienced quite a lot of ash from them. Would love to be able to get the verdo logs again, but these aren't too far away.”
