Round 90 degree down pipe bends are used when there are no other choice, this allows the water to be redirected at right angles, but will slow the flow of water and is why the 112 degree bend is the common bend used in practice.

? I presume you have installed it upside down or not using it as designed as ALL gutter downpipes are a push fit so the pipe fits inside on the top and over the outlet on the bottom this way when installed as it should be then water would only leak from the joint if the capacity of the pipe is less than the volume of the water due to build up within the joint

Hi Gutter downpipe joints are a push fit and not water tight this is how ALL gutter system work, the pipe fits in the top of the bend and over outside on the bottom of the bend. As water travels down the pipe it runs through the joint without requiring a seal. If the joints are leaking then this is because the volume of water travelling through it is greater than the capacity of the pipe so backing up or they are not being used correctly or fitted upside down.
