“Originally I was going to buy a bare unit from the other big manufacture that has a red tools. However I do have other DeWalt tools and therefore Dewalt batteries and on balance this felt like a good value tool given it comes with the case and the blades. Unlike other bare dewalt tools supplied with a case that I have bought in the past, The case supplied is actually designed for this specific tool so has a proper insert. I used the tool to do some gardening and it was very effective. It wasn’t too hungry on battery power either unlike my mini circular saw and multitool. It has a good solid feel to it but is also quite light and manoeuverable. My old ripsaw is a heavy 110 V corded unit so this is night and day better. My dad has the alternative red branded equivalent saw and I would say they’re probably fairly comparable. I guess your choice really depends on your brand loyalty.”
