The Clarke SSC1000G is a hydraulically powered, foot control operated device designed for the safe dis-assembly of car and van suspension struts. Using the SSC1000 is much, much easier, and more convenient than using a more conventional manually operated device. “Arrived very quickly considering its weight and size. The spring compressor itself is very good quality and is assembled very quickly. My main criticism would be the lower mount which should hold the strut in position is not amazing if you are working on a more slender strut. I had to use a flat piece of steel wedged into the front bottom part of the lower mount to keep the strut from leaning forwards when compressed”
