I'm now on my 4th one of these pumps. It is used to pull water back out of an underground storage tank to water horses. The first pump worked perfectly for about 5 years, with a replacement tank at about 3 years. The second pump I could never get to work, just refused to build up any pressure. I made many phone calls to Clarke helpline but they were useless, so I had to wait three weeks for a call back from someone who did actually know about the pump. Still couldn't get it working and couldn't return it because my partner had destroyed the box. Third pump arrived and would do zero, I couldn't even get half litre of water into it. More phone calls to Clarke helpline, then waiting for call back two weeks later. I was told to strip it down and check specific parts. The bladder was actually stuck together and even when freed, the pump would not pull water through, so returned the tank to Clarke along with a long detailed explanation of problems. Pump returned and was now pulling water through but it then during the night allowed pressure to drop, so motor fired up but didn't then switch off so the motor burnt out. Now on fourth machine, which like the first one is pretty much plug and play, except air is getting in around the filter pot, so allowing the water to drain back into tank, despite a non return valve in the tank, so the motor keeps running again unless we keep the tap open until the system has refilled itself, then switch off at the mains. When motor stops pulling water the pressure shoots water out round the filter pot, so I need to sort that out. When they work, they are brilliant but when they don't, don't expect any good help from Clarke for several weeks when they get round to phoning you back. Such a shame the customer service post purchase is so bad.
