Unicorn KidzSonic Kids Electric Toothbrush Reviews

4.5 Rating 27 Reviews
We had owned the prior version of the green baby brush of KidzSonic. But with this old version I was more satisfied than the new one. The old had a white, bright good light to a have a detailed look into the kids mouth. The new one comes with colored light and it is flashing all the time in different colors. There is no added value with this "gimmick". We are a bit disappointed about that. Would prefer the old behaviour with no stressful illumination to see more what is going on on the kids teeth.

Thank you for your feedback its invaluable to learn from our customer experience. We were sorry to hear that you have not enjoyed using our KidzSonic as much as the BabySonic. The BabySonic is designed for children aged from newborn to 3 years of age, as a first electric toothbrush for parent and child to use. Other parents similar to yourselves have found the light be invaluable to check on gums and emerging teeth. The KidzSonic as you have indicated has flashing lights and not the static white light. This design element was incorporated into this toothbrush for older children as an attraction element to encourage them to use the toothbrush and maintain their interest for the recommended 2 minute toothbrushing time. However, you make valid point from a parental/caregiver perspective, and I will pass this feedback onto our Design Team.

Got the tooth brush for Christmas for my daughter. She had just turned 3 and due an upgrade. It clearly states 3+ on packaging. She loved it, and uses it twice a day. The 30 second change in vibration really helps to teach about brushing. However came to change the heads and ordered the 3+ replacements. They are minute and not the heads that their toothbrush originally came with. Turns out that a 3+ toothbrush is sold with a 6+ head attached to it. And I only realised this when I had purchased replacement heads. Slightly confused why you would sell a 3 plus toothbrush with a 6 + head attached. I much prefer the six plus head the sizes better and the bristles are much better for getting in between teeth.

Unicorn design is a big hit with our 5 year old. Unfortunately this brush has a major design flaw, I would not have bought the brush had I known and I would not buy another unless they fix this. The brush has a curved back and cannot be laid down on a flat surface in order to put the toothpaste on. As we wanted our 5 year old to be able to independently put the toothpaste on her brush, but she still needs 2 hands to squeeze out the paste, she Can not put the brush down in order to do this - it just rolls over with the sides of the bristles resting on the surface. This means she needs a parent with her every time she brushes her teeth, to hold the brush while she puts on the toothpaste. Also unhygienic if the toothbrush keeps rolling over. Even for adults this is annoying, but for kids unworkable. We checked and all our adult toothbrushes, both electric and manual across 4 different brands, can all lie flat, so it does seem rather odd. We have happily used the BabySonic since she was little and it too did not suffer from the same problem. We were excited to get her next big girl toothbrush but cannot recommend this one unfortunately.

Hi Nicola, Thank you for your feedback. We certainly take on board your point concerning toothpaste application. In terms of design you are correct it can be annoying when applying toothpaste if you are laying the toothbrush on its side, but the bottom of the toothbrush is stable if put onto a flat surface, and the curved surface is so much easier for a child to hold with our finger childs grip test Regarding toothpaste application. You actually do not need so much toothpaste its advisable for a pea-sized amount of toothpaste for children 3 years and upwards and we always recommend that an adult Is present when a child brushes their teeth as sometimes as much as they like to exert their independence they do not have the manual dexterity to do the job properly. We do thank you for your feedback and will pass this onto the design team as its invaluable to learn from a customer experience perspective.
