“Very high quality and well designed BBQ at a grrat price. It would have got 5 stars if it hadn't despatched with an incredibly stupid regualator for a tiny gas bottle that was not coneected to the BBQ via the usual push fit, but was a crimped fitting that could ONLY be used with that regulator hose. It has taken 3 weeks of postal shopping and nearly £30 to finally get the correct FEMALE 1/4 BSP LEFT HAND THREAD TO 8MM INTERNAL PIPE fitting. No one seems to sell them locally so online was the only option and incorrect ones kept arriving. Deeply annoying and this SHOULD be shown in the advertising of the product. Finally after 2 weeks we could start using it with a proper size Butane bottle.”

Just an update on the regulator - if you take a look at the Weber Q1200 page, the last image in the small image series, shows the Q1200 connection to a disposable gas bottle and advises that it has an EN417 fitting.
We also advise in the product specification and the technical information that the barbecue connects to small disposable gas canisters and an additional part is required to connect to a larger cylinder.
If you wish to connect to a larger gas cylinder we would recommend purchasing the Weber part 8482, which would then allow a connection to a propane gas bottle with a 27mm Clip On fitting. Weber do advise against changing the hose and regulator to a non manufacturer supplied one.
