I previously left a 'Very Good' review for this product based on its performance during my first two cooks. I am downgrading that review after using 2 full bags because the bottom quarter of each was mainly dust and charcoal smaller than 15mm which can't be burnt on a Kamado Joe (it blocks up the fire grate and firebox holes). I have got through 2 bags now which were both the same. The particles were so fine that it can't have been from transport, it must have been filled that way. I would estimate that the useable weight per bag is more like 7Kg which is still not bad value and I stand by my previous review regarding its performance.

Lights easily, easy to control burn rate, smokes little when it gets started, comparatively reasonably priced too.

The charcoal itself seems ok, but the bag contained many bits of plastic and a large amount of unusable dust.

Arrived on time. Used next day. Well pleased, slow burn, no floating ash, no chemical smells. Cooked food well with bbq taste. Will learn to use less charcoal as it lasts so much longer than bricks. A great but. Many thanks.
