A fantastic string set. I have been looking for a string that provides a lot of bottom end punch without the nasal twang of metal wound strings. I had been using a german set of nylon strings but decided to try the superior basswork deluxes. They provide everything I need. I don't play slap but jump blues and these strings provide the bounce and thump needed for this style. Excellent product!

I love these! Like many bassists I have experimented with various strings, including steel, hybrid, strimmer-line and natural gut. These SBW strings give me the best all-round experience of any of them. The sound difference between these and real guts is negligible, and these are zero maintenance! They are easy on the fingers : many of our rehearsals last 5 or 6 hours, which I can manage without any discomfort. In the past I have had to tape my fingers; but no more. I have 4 basses with Deluxe Dirty Guts : 3 with steel E strings, (solo F# Helicores, tuned-down), and the most resonant with all SBWs. Apart from practising at home, all my playing, (slap, pizz and arco) is amplified. Obviously all basses and bassists are different, but for someone wanting a gut tone from their bass without the maintenance, expense and moral issues, I would thoroughly recommend the Superior Bass Works Deluxe strings.

these are very good strings for a second bass that spends time outside , in hot tents etc. when amplified they are fantastic, unplugged can be a little quiet especially in the wind but the authentic wooden click beats the more synthetic sound of much more expensive offerings from innovation ,slapstrings etc.
