“I have my bass tuned in an unusual way, AEAE, partly because I am a free improvisor and like to use the open string octaves, and partly because of age. I am very pleased with the Pirazzi solo strings for the A2, E2 and the solo B tuned down to A1, which gives more resonance on my Stentor Messina, along with a standard Pirazzi E1.”
