“I've had my arcus S3 bass bow for about a year now. Very happy with it. It is stiff and stable, has a very well balanced feel to it (very little weight in the hand). It's well finished without unecessary decoration. The sound is a lot brighter than my (admittedly much cheaper) wooden bow and it draws a lot more tone and dynamic range out of the bass. It does take a little getting used to; it needs, and can take, a higher hair tension than a wooden bow and will ocassionally "stall out" the string if pressed too hard, especially if the hair tension is too low. I'm now considering an arcus 'cello bow too.”
