“Very light piece of equipment. Bought for use by current cellist in music group. The cellist was not at all happy about inserting the sensors under the cello bridge as it's costly to set up and tune professionally. Cellist did agree to have the sensors placed in the cutwork frame of the bridge instead. I don't know if the pickup works as well with sensors thus placed as they are not in direct contact the the cello body. At least the cello can be clearly heard now.”

Hi, Thank you for your review of the Shadow SH 955 Cello Pickup & Preamp. The thickness of the elements shouldn't alter the height of the bridge too much, and of course, they are removable. Also fitting of this pickup will not undo any work done by a luthier when setting up a cello. For the pickup to work optimally, it would need to be fitted as described in the fitting instructions. However, you seem to have found a good workaround which works for you and your Cellist and I'm pleased that the cello can now be clearly heard.
