This type of grain has the characteristic of absorbing more than other types of rice, the flavours of the stock in which it is cooked, making it the ideal type of rice for cooking the perfect paella. This peculiarity allows you to save the starch, so it always comes loose, without caking, making it the king rice for perfect paella or risotto style dishes. Our paella rice is carefully prepared by Hijos de Vicente Catala Peiro, a family business located in Valencia and one of the oldest companies in its sector. The company's beginnings were in the late 19th century, and its current owners represent the fifth generation to run the business.
