“We visited Chichen Itza from Riviera Maya and were picked up and taken to the site by a wonderful tour guide Mauricio. A local man with Mayan Ancestory, he explained to us all about the history of Chichen Itza and how it was designed with the sun at the heart of it. Incredible it was built over a thousand years ago and how much they knew. We got to eat at a hotel near by and this amazing local mexican food was a highlight (they had more western options available). We stayed on for the light and sound show at the end, but as this wasn't in English found it a bit hard to follow. Still spectacular. A long day but definitely worth leaving the hotel for!!”
