Bought 2 day tickets for my 15 year old son and myself. So easy to redeem at the kiosk and let the fun commence. Loved being back at alton after 13 years taking my son on the new rides.

Having not gone to Alton Towers for a multiple of years, my yearn for a thrill was triggered when I heard about the world’s first VR ride Galactica. I booked my tickets through Attractiontix to take advantage of the meal deal offer. Great offer to save me even more money and time, as we knew where we were eating. So, all 8 of us went to Alton Towers and the first ride we attacked was Spinball Whizzer. Nice and easy ride to warm you in. Scream rating 2/10 Next up the Oblivion. We were met with a 40-minute queue but it was totally worth the wait. No matter how many times I go on the Oblivion the drop gets me every time. Scream rating 7/10 Other rides Rita – Scream rating 5/10 Duel – Thrill rating 4/10 Congo River Rapids – Thrill rating 7/10 SkyRide – Thrill rating 6/10 Now onto the piece la resistance. This was what I personally came to Alton Towers for ‘GALACTICA!’. This ride was the main conversation point for hours after we went on it. And once you’ve taken on this universe themed rollercoaster, you’ll see that the possibilities of what could be projected seems to be endless. GALACTICA – Thrill rating 9/10 (Only reason it didn’t get a 10 is because the ride isn’t long enough)

Even though I'm a big wimp and found a lot of the rides too scary, I still had a great time here! It was easy to get in with our pre-booked tickets and by the afternoon I had even plucked up the courage to go on the new ride "Galactica", which is the world's first Virtual Reality Rollercoaster. it was AMAZING and actually felt like you were rocketing into space! My only disappointment was that we didn't get to eat at the new Rollercoaster Restaurant - where your food arrives at each table via mini rollercoasters. It was so popular that there was a 2-hour wait, so if you want to eat here make sure you book a table!! TIP: Get there as early as possible!! We went on a weekday and within half an hour of the gates opening there were already considerable queues to get in, so try to arrive before opening time to avoid the crowds.

Had an amazing time on the Galactica, fantastic experience. It was out of this world :) The new Rollercoaster Restaurant is a must! your food slides down to your table. Book before you go, as its so busy there is no walk in availability. we went anti clockwise round the park and saved some queue time. More time to enjoy the rides. Overall it was a great day out with the team.

Air was previously one of my favourite rides at Alton Towers and this year, it's been turned into the UK's first Virtual Reality ride. You put on the headset and as your body is flown around, your mind is taken on a trip to outer space! Incredible, immersive experience and I came off the ride hoping that more theme parks would take advantage of this new technology!

The main focus of the trip was to take the kids to Cbeebies Land! I must say that it was the trip of a lifetime for them (and for us to be honest), 2 weeks later and they are still talking about it. Plus, we were lucky because the weather was on our side. :) The attraction has all the main things well located which parents look for when travelling with kids (e.g toilets, coffee shops, restaurants, etc.). I definitely recommend it (but on a sunny day... of course).
