“The perfect red squirrel feeder box is hard to come by. The wooden ones have heavy lids and get quite slippy when wet. Many often have just one hole to secure to a tree so need the addition of extra support. The perspex front is either too easy to remove and falls out or is screwed in so difficult to clean. Also, my existing woodland one would fill with water after heavy rain (wet squirrels & pine marten heads I presume) and it was awkward to bale the water out. So... I was delighted to find this feeder. I now have red squirrels in my garden, a couple are still kittens and quite little, I have another metal feeder but it's quite small and I'll be away over Christmas, so I purchased this one. It has a light lid, shuts slowly and quietly, even the little ones can get it open. There are 2 holes for securing to a tree/fence, drainage holes at the bottom and the perspex can be removed, but also looks secure. It also holds a lot of nuts so my worries about the squirrels at christmas are over. Very reasonably priced too. Recommended and I'll probably purchase another for the woodland squirrels in the new year.”
