Let me start by saying if you are not using these sensors, you are probably not playing your best. I have played 32 rounds (some 9 holes) with my sensors since last year. I have gone from an 18 index to an 11 in this time frame. I can't say this improvement is from the sensors and the data in the app but I can say they probably save me a couple of strokes a round on average for any course that I don't play a lot. I think what I learned the most is my yardages for clubs were really closer to my max and not my average. So after reviewing the data from just my first few rounds I could quickly see that if I took one more club into the green I would be closer more often. That one change caused me to hit many more greens and be a lot closer when I miss. OK, so if you want to shoot a couple of shots better without any practice, you probably can just get this system and using the data play better. When I first got the set, putting a phone in my pocket was weird. I liked that they had an option for using an Apple watch in beta. I have played with both options and now I like just keeping my phone in my pocket. I really find myself paying so much more attention to distances to the green, pin, hazards that I just need the data handy. I have a friend that uses the watch and he likes it better so you have an option there. I was worried about the battery on my phone. I had an iphone 6s at first and not an iphone se. It surprisingly does not use that much battery. Maybe 30%-40%. I like to check the scores after every few holes at least. It can miss a shot every once and a while but if you take your time with putts its very accurate on sensing your shots. You don't have to worry about it though as it's super easy to add a shot or a penalty :(. The app has so much data it is hard to play without it. I can pinpoint a layup on a par five to get the exact yardage I want that is in the biggest landing area (if I hit a good shot). You can really just see what you are doing better. If you are playing on a course you don't play very often this data is so important to saving shots. Nothing worse than hitting your best drive and finding it went through the fairway into the edge of the trees. Not something I have to think about anymore. So far, I have had one sensor go out that they replaced it at no charge and it was very simple. I hit a lot of balls on the range and play about 40 rounds a year. I don't have any plans to ever play without the app and the sensors. The data you about the course and about your game really is amazing.

Hi Bryan, thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. It's great to hear how much you enjoy using Arccos Caddie and how it has helped you to lower your handicap from 18 to 11. We hope this trend continues! Keep up the good work.

I can't say enough about my sensors. I got them as a gift from my son for Father's Day in June, 2020 and it's the end of July, and I've dropped 4 off my handicap. (That's under a month and 1/2!!!) I am getting used to playing with my phone in my pocket, but plan to get the link very soon. It gives me a "realistic" idea of how far I'm really hitting my clubs, and with every round, the data just keeps getting dialed in more and more. I've had no issues with the sensors, and love using the app for MY true yardages, as well as how the course is actually playing. Totally changed my golf game, and greatest Father's Day gift I could ever get!!! I know I'm a high handicapper, (for now) but I think these sensors would help improve anyone's game. Can't recommend them enough!! ...and my index is going the right direction.

Really great product! Of course not everything is perfect like the problems that I face when I chip with my 8 iron and it ruins my average and stuff like that but I must say you really found the best solutions to the different problems. One question however: if I chunk it or thin it etc. will that make the avg range go down or can I remove the shot so it doesn’t count? Other than that, amazing product. Great job guys! :)

Hi Philip, thank you for leaving us a review. It's nice to hear that you are really enjoying Arccos Caddie. In regards to the club averages, chip shots (anything within 50 yards of the green) are marked as a chip and do not impact your smart distances. Also, the smart distances remove the really bad and really good shots to make the average more accurate, therefore, your chunks/thins should be removed. You can learn more about this on our support site - support.arccosgolf.com. Thanks again!

I've been using the Arccos Caddie for about a year now. It has been simply fantastic. I waited to review until I had a lot of experience with it as there is a bit of a learning curve with the app. Installing the sensors on clubs is simple. Just screw the caps into the hole at the end of each grip. Point the installed sensor at your phone and the app syncs. From then on, whenever you pull a club, the app knows which club you're using as it becomes "activated" once you place the head of the club below the grip. Your smart phone must be in your left front pocket for the system to work (I use an iPhone 8s). This has not been a problem for me to adjust to. I believe it would be easier to use if the phone could be in your RIGHT front pocket or a back pocket as it would be easier to retrieve your phone without a golf glove on your left hand. That said, I've adjusted quite easily. Glancing at your phone, the Arccos Caddie gives you distance to front, center and back of the green. You can also retrieve distances to intermediate areas by tapping on the gps overview. The Caddie also displays wind direction and speed. Once you've logged enough shots, Caddie "learns" how far you hit your clubs and will recommend which club you should use for a shot based on your previous performance from that distance. This can be helpful when you think you need a 7-iron but caddie tells you to hit a 6-iron based on previously logged distances. A myriad of information and stats are kept for review after each round. Number of fairways hit with percentage. How many fairways missed left vs. right. Average driver distance. Number of greens hit with percentage. How many greens missed left, right, short or long. Average distance to pin after approach. Putting stats. Up and down stats. Sand save stats. Average distance for each club hit. And MORE! Arccos Caddie is like having someone from the tour keep stats for you. Whether you want information to help you improve your game faster or you just want access to important information while playing, or you want advice on what club to play in a certain situation based on previous performance rather than "feel" or guess, Arccos will help your golf game.

I think the idea of this is fantastic. However, I'm a bit disappointed by the fact that I must carry my phone in my front pocket at all times - this was not advertised or I likely would not have purchased this device. I can't play having to keep taking the phone out of my pocket each shot to get distances, etc. It's a real pain. The other thing I found out, again not advertised, is that my phone has to face a certain direction when in my pocket. Come on folks!!! Although it's a great idea, it seems the technology was not quite ready for this to be rolled out. Plus, there was less than good faith advertising about this product. Now if want to go back to using it I'll need to purchase the new pocket device at additional cost? I also did not know there was an annual fee. I feel a but duped. I won't be able to recommend your product to my friends. Do better please!!

Hi George, while no technology is perfect, we strive to improve the product experience on a regular basis, and appreciate your feedback. We understand the issues of the phone in the pocket which is why we have developed the Apple Watch app and Arccos Caddie Link, so players have an alternative option. In some case, the orientation of the phone can make a difference in the shot tracking experience, so this is something we recommend trying. We try to outline all the features on our website so users are not caught off guard but if you purchased from a retailer where this information is missing, please let us know so we can get that updated. For any further issues, please reach out to us at starter@arccosgolf.com. Thanks again for taking the time to provide feedback.

Quite simply the BEST thing I've purchased to help improve my handicap. This is a dispensable tool; the data and insights it provides to improve your game are incredible. I play the whole game with the phone in my pocket, it doesn't interfere with my game and when I'm home, I'll add any shots (like gimmes) which may not / cannot be picked by the sensor - you can add these via the app or your watch during the game as well. It gives you an amazing helicopter view of your total game (driving, approach, putting, sand with associated handicaps), for example, 74% of the time I'm short to the green, so I've clubbed down as it's great to see my GIR and putting stats gradually improve. I barely ever do reviews, I cannot recommend this product enough. Well done.
