This product arrived dirty and one side of the metal where the cutter is supposed to slide was cinched together so I had to prise it open as best I could to allow the cutter to slide down. It’s not aligned as neatly as I would like it to be

The cutting 'blade' isn't very sharp and cannot be used for melt and pour soaps, it just makes a dent in the top of them. Makes a bit of a mess of cold process soap too so I used a knife. There's not a lot of room to get a knife down the cutting slot and my knife kept getting wedged in there so it wasn't that practical and didn't save that much time. Shame as its a good concept.

Dear Sue, Thank you for your feedback. Cutting soap can be a bit tricky, indeed. Both cutters are predominately made for the melt and pour soaps. Due to safety reasons we do not send the blades sharpened, however you are welcome to try sharpening the blade. It also helps if the soaps are of room-temperature as it is easier to cut then. Also, sometimes it is easier to get a straight cut if you use the blade only and do not use the base, as it can be slippery. If you do use the base, make sure you hold to the back of the soap and press it forwards to stop it moving away as this results in the slice being thicker at the bottom. The pressure makes the soap push to the back, hence the uneven slices. Also, you can put the blade in hot water to warm it up, wipe it dry and try to cut the soap then. A warm blade should go through the soap with less pressure required. I hope this helps a little. Many apologies for any inconvenience. Kind Regards, Urszula

Does the job but is a bit flimsey so sometimes difficult to keep the cutting blade in the slot.
