“I bought the 'Pictures to Share' book 'Proverbs & Sayings' for my Mum for Mothers Day and she really liked it. She enjoyed looking through it and reading the Proverbs and their explanations out to us. It was a bit on the expensive side at £20 but the result was great and worth the money. Very happy with this book and would buy more from the same series.”

“I bought the book - its a funny old world - for my father who has dementia, but I am quite disappointed with it. I'm pretty sure that even in his condition he will question why I bought it for him. Far too expensive.”

Unfortunately we have very little control of the RRP of our books, as they are given to us by the publisher. The Pictures to Share books have been a best-seller of ours over previous years, but we do understand that they're not always suitable for all people with cognitive loss. “I ordered the Twiddle Muff and two picture books for my mother for her 87th birthday. She has Vascular Dementia and failing eyesight, and constantly "plays" with her clothing, and anything else within her reach! The Twiddle Muff is super, because she has it on her lap and loves the softness of it, and the beads, buttons, tassles etc help keep her hands occupied. She finds it a great comfort, thank you! The picture books have large, bright , clear photos and big letters. She enjoys going through them with her carers, and it prompts memories of similar situations in her younger life. The other residents in her home enjoy them too! There seems to be more and more useful and thoughtful products coming on the market now , which is great for people who need that bit of extra help.
