“A very good product - I would have given it 5 stars but the set up to sync the PIR with the pager was a bit fiddly (due to incorrect instructions which I understand are being updated). The on-line help soon resolved that problem. I had bought this as an alternative to a pressure pad alarm so I would know if my mother with dementia and prone to falls gets up at night. Because it's so easy to move the PIR around the house I use it the whole time if mother is not in easy sight so I know when she starts wandering”

“The pager was fine but we couldn’t set up the motion sensor. It differs from the photo on the website and the instructions appeared to be a bad translation from another language and impossible to make any sense of. I have therefore returned the product.”

We're sorry to hear that our customer was unhappy with their motion sensor. We have emailed her directly to discuss this in further detail. We've looked into the problems experienced and can confirm that the design for the motion sensor has recently changed. We do believe this is an improvement on the last motion sensor, however, we do agree that the instructions provided are poor. To ensure this doesn't happen again AlzProducts staff will be setting up all motion sensor kits before dispatch, until we can write our own set of instructions to include with the product, which we are in the process of doing at the moment. Finally, our customer service team are always happy to help with any programming via the telephone or email.

We've contacted Brian with a checklist to work through on the rare occasions our customer's alarm kits develop inconsistencies. We find that the few checks to run through fixes any issues with the kits as they are extremely reliable. The main cause for inconsistent transmitters is a low battery in either the transmitter or the pager, both come with low battery warnings and we recommend replacing the batteries immediately when the warnings appear.
