The As We Were Reminiscence Book is the third in a series of books created specifically for people living with dementia, with input from local dementia champions and care home dementia specialists.Suitable for use in care homes, day centres, or as a shared experience with family & friends24 pages in large A4 size for easy reading & viewingTake a trip down memory lane; we begin with fashions of the ages, from the trilby hat to the Bay City Roller girls of the 1970s.We continue with the trades and professions of yesteryear; The businessmen and girls in the office & typing pool, the milkman at the door, miners working underground, and the shopkeepers on the high street.A very simplistic bookThe illustrations throughout are identical to the front cover that's shown above, and there are also colouring in pages located in certain chapters. This book is great for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or cognitive loss, however please be aware that these books may not be suitable for people with early/mild cognitive loss. The feedback from a small number of our customers is that they underestimated how simplistic the images would be and the end-user was unhappy with them.ChaptersFashion in the 1940sFashion in the 1950sFashion in the 1960sFashion in the 1970sTrades & ProfessionsThe High StreetSchool DaysIn the Countryside

Feels like a childrens' book but maybe that is the suitable kind? So difficult to know.

It’s a nice book but was disappointed to see how thin it was (about magazine thickness). Would have been nice as a hardback and possibly more durable given its size.

I was very disappointed by this product and am returning it. It's a great idea but the quality isn't good. First of all, it contains many basic grammatical errors, including incorrect use of apostrophes. It's obvious that the services of a professional editor were not used, which is a shame because it could have been edited relatively quickly and inexpensively. It's also very thin for the price. It would have been nice if there were more pictures to colour in, for instance. But another bugbear is the fact that it mentions dementia in large type, both in the introduction and on the back. Not everyone with dementia is aware that they have it – and even if they are, they may not want to be so obviously reminded of it.

Very happy with the 'As we were' book. It was bought for my Mum who has Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease. It achieved the goal we were hoping for, by looking at the pictures started a conversation and a trip down memory lane.Thank you.
