Our Incoming Calls Only Telephone has no dial-pad or any other means of making outgoing calls.Telephones such as these have historically been used in public areas for one-way communication. In recent years these phones have proven to be useful for people with Alzheimer's, dementia, or any cognitive loss.Incoming calls only telephones can help combat problematic behaviour:Eliminates the possibility of calling emergency services when they are not neededStops individuals with cognitive loss from running up large telephone billsFeatures3 ringer volume settings: Off, low volume, and high volumeTone control: YesRinger off setting: YesHearing aid compatible: YesEthical & Safety WarningThe landline telephone is the first device that people will attempt to use when they believe they are in trouble in their house. This is why many people with memory impairment use the telephone on a regular basis, as they associate the landline telephone as a means of finding help or answers.Restricting access to a telephone can be potentially dangerous, and is morally wrong in certain situations. Therefore we strongly recommend that this telephone should only be used where there is 24 hour access to security or carers, for example in the following situations:In an individual's bedroom in a care homeIn flats/bedrooms in shared accommodation with a 24 hour receptionAs a telephone when living with family, friends, spouse, or carersAdditional Feature - Hotline TelephoneThe Incoming Calls Only Telephone can also operate as a "hotline telephone" if connected to a PABX system. A hotline telephone will dial a single predetermined number when the handset is lifted from the base. However, most customers do not need this feature & the phone comes with it deactivated.

Brilliant. My mum has altzimers and uses a mobile but doesn't always answer it which means constant trips to see why. Brought this phone and put it on the table next to her seat and she answers it everytime because she knows I'm the only one with the number

Excellent! Simple to set up - does what it says on the box.

The phone itself is good and what I needed for my sister's room in a care home. With no keypad I don't have to worry about her making calls to wrong numbers and emergency services. It also removes the worry over scam calls that ask the recipient to press a number on the keypad possibly leading to premium rate calls being racked up. Minus one star as it is overpriced - a similar BT phone with a keypad is available for around £12, and these ones with no keypad are not 'dementia' phones, simply phones that are commonly used in areas such as factory floors where only incoming calls are needed.

This phone is ideal for the elderly who do not realise just how many phone calls they are making.. Family and friends can still stay in contact. Ideal if they live with carers who can ring 999 if needed. Otherwise dont buy.

The phone enabled me to have an incoming calls only service in my holiday cottage. I did, however. feel that it was expensive for a phone that has no keypad and resembles phones with a keypad that can be bought for under £10.
