Purchased for my mother who has dementia. She used to love playing her CDs and singing along. Over recent years she stopped using her stereo, we suspect due to confusion around many buttons and process to load CDs. Tried a simple radio but despite colour coded stickers we found the tuning was off every time we turned on. The simple music player provides an ideal solution, with a lift to turn on and close to turn off hinged switch. There were even labels inside to pop on to remind users how to operate. Volume is set by you and there are no easily accessible means to change it alter accidentally. The fact we could download music that my mum liked, from her era, has let us personalise the experience. We have uploaded over 100 songs (can accommodate many more) to keep each session fresh and as a bonus avoid repetitive sessions for her neighbours in the care home. Despite all that her dementia is taking away the music of her time provides stimulation, is recognisable to her and she often joins in singing or at the very least tapping her feet. Highly recommended.

93 year old Father-in-law with dementia finds this a marvelous thing. He found CD players had become way too complicated and had broken 3 in the last year as his hand-eye coordination is poor. Sound quality is good. Loading MP3 files is very easy but rather slow - a USB3.0 connection would have speed loading up. It plays the mp3 files in a pseudo-random order. If you turn the power off it restarts the order. So to get to the end of several hundred songs you must not turn the power off. Despite these issues it has significantly improved my FiL's life.

A Christmas gift for my Mum, I haven’t seen her so happy in a long long time… it has given her a new lease of life. She is much happier the majority of time and we think It has helped with her speech too as she is singing more, so therefore using her voice! I would highly recommend it, thank you!

See above - this only accepts MP3 files. Please be aware if you are planning to download from a Mac because Apple Music used MP4 files.

The Simple Music Player will only play MP3 files. We do try to make this clear on the product page description and under the specifications table. The music player is not an Apple device and it cannot play 'Apple protected' .m4p or .m4a format. There are many free file converters, which convert your music into MP3 format. We reached out to our customer to offer technical support and information about returning the product for a refund.
The music player worked as advertised. The sound was crystal clear. It was easy for my brother with dementia to operate. It's the sort of thing I've been looking for this last year. I found it easy to connect to my IMac (all necessary connectors were provided with the player). I am confident it would work with a PC. I uploaded a 650mb mp3 audiobook with no problems. I am sure that shorter music tracks will be easy to upload as it connects to the computer just like a memory stick. One wrinkle (which relates to memory sticks in general not just this device is that on MacOS when you delete a file from the device it remains present despite appearances to the contrary. Just Google for the fairly simple solution. My brother has asked for more flexibility but sadly it would be difficult to combine that with the ease of use of this device.

I was introduced to the Simple Music box by staff at my fathers care home. I ordered it and it arrived very quickly. Uploading music was more complex than I thought. I have an Apple Music subscription and therefore don’t own the music, I couldn’t convert to MP3 format. I then tried buying music from another site! Not all tracks are downloadable in MP3 format. However, I did eventually load the music I wanted. The box itself is great and I think my father benefits from the having his favourite music playing in the background. Great product. Better information required at time of purchase and with the product.

Bought for my disabled grandchild for Xmas. It works really well, but the on/ off lid might be a bit flimsy for her strength. Nevertheless it will enable her to choose to play music for herself - so grateful for this product : I think she’ll love it!
