“My father loves this radio. He is partially deaf and blind with slight dementia. He is happy listening to The pre tuned channels we have set for him. As he cannot see any knobs or switches he does not concern himself and get stressed trying to get it to work. The top button on s just great”

“I sent the radio back because there were only fm and am stations available. My mother has dementia and is not able to understand people when they are speaking on these stations (which they do quite a lot of). She would like to listen to a station that plays old-fashioned songs all day, but this was not available on the radio. If the radio was digital this would be possible and for the price, I would have thought digital would be available. I am disappointed because Mum cannot concentrate on watching the TV and listening to the radio would have greatly enhanced her life. Also I had to pay £9 to return it - almost 25% of the value. I do however think it is a great idea to have a one button radio but unfortunately such limited radio stations.”

We're sorry to hear that our customer was unhappy with their radio. We do mention on our product page that this is an AM/FM radio and does not have DAB/digital functionality but we've made this clearer to help customers in future. We can also offer return labels for unsuitable goods that are charged at £3.95 (free for faulty goods) - these can be cheaper on many occasions compared to paying at the Post Office. Unfortunately our customer didn't contact us (from what we can see) before the radio was returned so we were not able to offer this service. We appreciate that contacting businesses to arrange returns is more difficult in the current climate and are working on making our returns process clearer so our customers have multiple options for returning their goods without needing to contact us first. “We have set this radio up for my 96 year old mother-in-law. She has vascular dementia and mobility problems. The front panel was a little difficult to remove but we gently levered it off with a small screwdriver. We set the channel (radio 3) and the volume, we put the panel back on and then showed her how to press the button on the top. She was very happy with it. She can turn it on and off herself. Well designed and it looks good too.”

“My mother is in self-isolation in a care home as part of the new coronavirus policy. Having this very simple radio has been invaluable and keeps her motivated and cheerful. She has it on classic FM and sings to Opera and hums to Mozart. One to the best items I have bought her”
