GPS, WiFi & LBS. The WATCHU requires a direct line of sight connection to a minimum of three Geo Positioning Satellites to communicate its location.WiFi - When the WATCHU watch is unable to provide tracking location via GPS it will attempt to provide location tracking via WiFi to relay its position. “Unfortunately the GPS is wildly inaccurate and the maximum call volume is far too low for someone with a hearing impairment. The battery life is also very short meaning the watch has to be recharged every couple of days through a laptop. Very disappointing purchase.”

We're sorry to hear that Stephen is unhappy with his GPS tracker. GPS tracking does have it's limitations, depending on location and some other factors, however, it should generally be an accurate way of locating the device. We would recommend that a roaming SIM is used, if not already, and some troubleshooting was conducted via technical support. We do agree that the volume for many of our GPS trackers are not ideal for individuals with impaired hearing, however, these devices are not designed to allow perfect 2 way conversations but mainly as a way of easily checking that someone is OK, and if not, the most important information needed to help them. The battery life does vary depending on tracking and usage but there are ways we can help with this. Finally, we do have a 30 day returns policy should any of our customers be unhappy with their product.

“I bought this for my father as he has Alzheimers and is beginning to wander. It was quite tricky to set up but I managed it eventually without help. However, for some reason it was not registering properly and I had to contact Watchu to get it reset and check it was working from their end. Once that was done I found that it worked okay. It is not 100% accurate in its positioning - as expected for anything relying mainly on GPS - but it means that I have a reasonable idea of where my father is when he is wearing it. The main issue is getting him to wear it - he thinks it isn't working because the display goes off so quickly and keeps taking it off as a result. I have persuaded him to wear it on the other wrist in addition to a normal watch and hope this will work better. The most annoying thing was the number of sales emails I got from CPR - I have unsubscribed!”
