I bought the phone as website recommended it for hard of hearing customers. As the website is aimed at Alzheimer patients I assumed it would be easy to use. Unfortunately I don't feel this to be the case. Details say you can increase the volume to enable you to hear, which you can. However you have to do this every time you use the phone, you can't set it to an increased volume . my dad has early onset dementia, he can't remember that he needs to increase the volume let alone find the button to press. The phone is his only connection if theres an emergency but if he can't hear people talking to him it's useless. This phone was no better than the one we already had in this respect. The idea of pictures or names on large speed dial buttons is good.

We're sorry to hear that our customer is disappointed with the phone. There are 5 volume levels (1-5) to choose from for the earpiece and speakerphone. The ‘Volume Boost’ function allows you to amplify the handset earpiece volume and is turned off automatically when the call is ended. This is a safety feature, as repeated incremental exposure to amplification levels may be harmful to people without hearing loss. We advise to all of our customers, that if a product they have purchased is not suitable for their needs, then we do offer a hassle free 30 day returns policy.

Really inventive, literally press one button which can have a name or photo. It works really well

Not the easiest thing in the world to setup but a great phone for my dad. Not sure why he still had trouble hanging up the cordless handset but these phones are as easy to use as it gets. Had to take the cordless handset out of the lounge and put the base station by him because once you put it down like an old fashioned handset the call ends. Just one cordless next to the bed for emergency use. See how he get on.

Bought this phone in an attempt to stave off the day when my mum can no longer use the phone. I had it delivered straight to my sister for installation at my mum's, so I haven't seen it. She seems to be slowly getting the hang of it. Ideally she could use a bespoke phone: bigger buttons, speaker comes on automatically on pick up (she's deaf), on/off buttons away from the speaker button (she presses off as often as she presses the speaker button) etc etc. But this is the closest I could find, and a definite improvement on her old phone, and the big preset diallouts to me and my sisters are very helpful - she can't dial in a number

I like the photo button option. I wish that there were more of them. I think a simpler instrument would be even better. Dad does not go out so he doesn’t need an answering machine. He doesn’t need 50 memories. He doesn’t need a speakerphone and an amplify button. My advice is focus on simplicity and big buttons.

The wireless handset defaults to a very quiet volume setting. So a person who cannot see very well has to find the rather fincky volume button and make it work. In my opinion this one fact makes this product unsuitable for elderly or non-tech-competant folk.

We're sorry to hear that our customer is unhappy with the volume of the additional handset. We've emailed them to let them know that the default volume can be changed by accessing the menu on the main corded handset. The additional handset volume can be changed by accessing the setting here: MENU > HS SETTINGS > RING SETUP > RING VOLUME
Very poor call quality .. outgoing voice weak, dont seem to be able to adjust. Instructions cluttered and unhelpful. Cannot register additional base unit.
