I bought this because my Mum, who has dementia, used to love a 'Beetle drive' and we had a similar product when I was a child. It's a great idea and very nicely presented, but I would say not great for someone whose dementia might mean they have lost muscle tone in their hands as the pieces are quite fiddly and stiff to put together. It is also rather overstyalised so the head doesn't look much like a head and seems attach at an unobvious angle. The legs seem a bit thin and I suspect will break easily. Mum has moderate vascular dementia, we will give the game a go, but I think she will need a fair bit of help to put the pieces together. I will review again once we have tried it - it's a Christmas present for her so won't be for a couple of months.

Just as I remember it and introduced my 3 & 5 year old grandchildren to it very excited to actually build the beetle

This game brought back fond memories of playing "Beetle Drive" with my older sister as a child. Although the beetles are different colours, they're still bright and fun to put together. Some of the holes needed a bit of wriggling the first time we played, but that was the only thing I have to "complain" about. I appreciate the fact that the box itself appears to be card with NO plastic (hurrah!). Each piece slots into a card base when the game is not being played. Easy to spot any missing bits. The dice is wooden and feels nice to play with.

Great fun for family to play with my dad who is recovering from a stroke. Looking forward to playing this with dad and his grand children on Christmas Day.

The pieces are far too small for people who suffer from dementia. One part is smaller than a drawing pin. The parts are made out of lightweight plastic. Ideally, they should be larger and heavier. The box, necessary to the game as it contains the score of each part, is also too small and is therefore difficult for people with poor dexterity to remove the parts as they play.

A bit fiddly with some of the tiny parts, but it sparked memories and was easier than the ‘ draw the beetle yourself’ idea
