They may look pretty goofy (wish it had rounded toe rather than individual toe contours), but they are SO comfortable! Nice wide toe bed, flexible soles. I've been on moderate hikes with them, and find them to be grippy enough that I don't slip when walking down hills, and very comfortable. Because the soles are relatively thin, my feet feel the ground heat more easily than with regular-soled shoes (my feet are pretty heat-sensitive), but this has not been a problem for me. Also, having relatively thin soles allows me to feel all the contours of the ground when hiking, but without any discomfort from even sharp rocks, etc.Pros: Comfortable! Grippy! Feels like you're barefoot, with protection.Cons: Silly design with the individual toe contours -- unnecessary, as your toes don't actually fit into the little contours -- if they did, your toes would be pressing right up against the tip of the shoe. But, I'm willing to put up with the goofy design for the protected barefoot feeling.

Very comfortable and supportive shoe for hiking and walking. I like the “barefoot” feel ~ natural feel of the earth, it’s like my feet were hugging the ground.

I really like these shoes as a switch from the New Balance Minimus running/walking/hiking shoes I've worn for years. The wider toe box is a comfort when I want to be out in the cold of winter and wear thicker socks. The shoelace improvement is fun and easy to adjust, although I'd want shorter laces on future pairs but I believe over time I'll have a problem replacing these laces when they wear out or break. I also like the easy to clean tread, which doesn't collect a lot of dirt, wet grass, or mud. I now have three pairs of this style and hope I can rely on buying the same style in the future. Not always true with New Balance, which seems to get rid of my favorites from year to year.

I was apprehensive to try these shoes. I am flat footed and work in healthcare were I am on my feet for 12 hours. I have had these shoes for a month and they have held up well. They are incredibly comfortable. I am flat footed so shoes can be difficult to find. These are perfect and I am going to order a second pair for everyday wear.

Good quality shoe to go walking or e exer ise in. The only downside is that the insole seems to lift as if its not glued down well.
