“This is a terrifying item with very strong jaws! I phoned Ackerman for advice as to whether one just had to force it onto the bridge. They were very helpful and even got one out to try it themselves. Yes, you do have to just force it on. I can't see the bridge or indeed the violin surviving this treatment so it is so far untried. I'm sticking with the heavy rubber mute.”
