Yamaha Custom mouthpieces are made from hard rubber ebonite This is the material of choice on quality mouthpieces The 4CM is the lay that comes on Yamahas custom saxophones The 5CM and 6CM are progressively more open lay mouthpieces which tends to allow more flexibility

“Really pleased with this mouthpiece ... of course I knew what I was buying, and for me it is the equal of the step up mouthpieces such as the Selmer C* (not that I am knocking the Selmer). The 4CM seems to work with all reeds (I am mainly using synthetic reeds).”

“What a difference between the 4c and the 4cm. The 4cm has a better response, better sound and stays in tune would recommend it.”
