I started piano lessons(aged 69! - I do play the alto recorder) last January (2020) and had two lessons before lockdown. Not coping with zoom lessons I have had none since. I was recommended this book as a teach yourself. I had been trying to follow the traditional grade 1 books but found them uninspiring. This book is logical and fun. Even though you are working towards playing your scales and other basics it makes them tuneful. I have to say that I can read music (though bass clef a little more slowly) and have the advantage of a very amateur woodwind player. However I would recommend this book highly and will be following up with others by Pam Waterhouse.
