“I have now been using the YDS150 as a practice instrument as my Sop is too loud to play in my flat and have already noticed a difference in my playing. It also doubles up as a midi Sax and works well with Ableton.”

“The Yamaha YDS-150 is a fantastic instrument and compliments my Akai EWI 4000S and alto and soprano saxes nicely. The EWI is very much a synth however the Yamaha YDS-150 plays like a sax so the two are completely different. The Yamaha is great and the only improvement needed is to the phone/tablet software which is sometimes difficult to connect to via bluetooth and needs much better functionality. Other than that, I'm really very pleased.”

“The YDS 150 has to be seen as an instrument in its own right - for the purist it is not a saxophone. However, the Sax fingering and ability to use headphones makes it perfect for practice anytime, anywhere, without disturbing neighbours. I spend a lot of time in a motorhome and can now practice on a campsite without upsetting anyone! Given it’s myriad voices and the controller app linked to my smartphone, the YDS 150 is a lot of fun, even for a relative beginner.”
