“Yes, I know this product usually gets rave reviews but ..... The instructions are "OK" - not wonderful but you can fit it yourself if you have a decent screwdriver to undo the existing thumbrest screws. Once fitted, you can adjust the product in a couple of ways although the instructions could have been more helpful with tips for getting the most comfortable result. However in my case the screw to adjust the up and down motion was not working. The thumbrest was binding somewhere on its mount and would not move so I had to take if off again and send it back. The other problem was that the thumbrest itself - although it fitted over my thumb reasonably well - it dug in to the flesh on my lower thumb near the base of my thumb. As a result I'm not sure if it is a solution for me.”

“The Kooiman thumb rest was easy to fit using the existing screw holes in my clarinet. It comfortably redistributes the weight of the clainet and allows much more freedom of finger movement - especially for the little finger keys.”

“Brilliant & I am still getting used to it! It helps with the stability of the clarinet. I found my wooden clarinet heavy, this help to distribute the weight and is more secure than the original thumb rest.”
